Roby to return for Saints side for Catalans trip

St Helens are to welcome back talismanic hooker James Roby for this Saturday’s trip to Catalans Dragons, the club have confirmed.

Roby missed the win against Wakefield last Friday, but will return to Keiron Cunningham’s squad to bolster their options ahead of the game.

The club’s official website note that Roby will return to the 17 at the expense of Lewis ‘Dougie’ Charnock, who impressed during the Wakefield win – with Cunningham saying he has the tools to play back-up to Roby.

“Young Dougie did a great job,” Keiron added. “He still needs a lot of work and is developing but he has shown to me that he will be a good back up for Robes.

“I have done a lot of work with him over the last two years and he has a ‘9′ skillset. He can handle himself in the middle, has a great kicking game and distribution. It is down to me as a coach to bring him on as a player.”
