We only want players who want to play for us, says Carter

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats chairman Michael Carter has insisted that any players who do not want to be here can leave if they wish – as the club only want players involved that want to play for the team.

The Wildcats parted company with coach James Webster on Tuesday, and Carter has led a rallying call to the squad’s players by saying that everyone needs to be in it together if they are to haul themselves out of trouble and preserve their Super League status.

“We need to get back to a philosophy here of us all being in this together,” he said.

“I have told the players if any of them want to get out, come and see me and we’ll sort something out. I don’t want anybody on board who doesn’t want to be here.

“Whether anybody will come and see me, time will tell, but they have had the message we only want players here who want to play for this club.”
