Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith has played it cool when asked about their ongoing move for Chris Sandow – saying whatever happens, he’s excited about the rest of the season.
Sandow’s request for an early release at Parramatta was rejected last week, but it is thought the half-back may try to force through a move to Super League again over the weekend ahead of the July 24 transfer deadline.
But Smith hinted that the Wolves will be happy to play the waiting game on Sandow’s future.
“Whatever will happen will happen,” Smith said after their defeat to St Helens.
“We’ve got a team going good here at the moment. If that’s what we’ve got to play with, I’m quite excited by that and the remainder of the season.
“If there’s a chance of adding to it before the end of the season, I’ll be excited about that too. If it happens it happens. Whether it’s Chris or somebody else, we’ll see.”
