Rochdale Hornets have pulled off the signing of winger Chris Riley from Wakefield.
The 27-year-old has joined the club on a one-year deal with the option to extend for a further year.
Riley has won a number of Challenge Cups with Warrington and played in the 2013 Grand Final for the Wolves in their defeat to Wigan Warriors.
He subsequently went on loan to Wakefield in 2014, a deal that was eventually made permanent.
His departure from Wakefield resulted in him spending time at Halifax on trial, but he has now signed for the League One outfit.
“We’re delighted, there are players playing in Super League, especially wingers, who aren’t as good as Chris.” said head coach Alan Kilshaw.
“He’s made a massive difference in terms of what he’s passing on to the young blokes and he’s a senior player now which perhaps he hasn’t been in the past.”
Riley added: “It’s a new challenge that I look forward to but it’s going to be a testing one over the next couple of months getting used to full-time work then going into a part time environment of Rugby League.
“But rugby league comes natural to me and obviously I’ve a lot of experience from the work I’ve done over the last ten years”
