Chris Chester believes Hull KR responded to their critics in the best way possible after securing a 16-16 draw with Castleford.
Josh Mantellato’s late try and conversion from the corner secured a point for Rovers, much to the delight of Chester.
“We’ve been questioned these last few weeks and I thought it was a perfect response. Defensively we looked comfortable; we spoke how the boys had to do their job,” he said.
“I must admit as soon as we scored I said to Dane Tilse that he (Mantellato) had no chance, and considering he’s only got one eye that’s open he’s done a fantastic job of kicking the goal.”
