Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell criticised his team for throwing away their game with Hull KR 16 apiece.
Despite leading the match on three occasions, the Tigers returned to West Yorkshire with just one league point after Josh Mantellato’s late try, much to the frustration of Powell.
“We were just dumb, if I’m being honest,” said Daryl Powell afterwards.
“We had that game won; it was tight all the way through, we worked hard but a couple of brain explosions from some players really hurt us. We kept gifting them the ball and they were finally able to take advantage right in the corner.
“It was a great kick from Mantellato though and they deserved it. We just weren’t great all game; they were tough conditions and we need to pick ourselves up and be a fair bit better than that.”
