DRIGHLINGTON’S plans to transform the local Drighlington Meeting Hall into a clubhouse for two Open Age sides and ten youth and junior teams are progressing nicely, thanks to the support of Leeds City Council.
The initiative, which will involve a fifty-year recurring lease, involves the addition of a clubroom at the rear of the building, with all facilities being made available for hire to any interested parties.
Drighlington spokesperson Andrew Newton said: “We hope that this will bring the people of Drighlington together, and that the building will bring many benefits to the surrounding community.
“New players, their families and social members are always made welcome at Drighlington. Anyone who would like to become a member, regardless of the rugby, should get in touch, or just pop in and introduce themselves.”
Head Coach Nathan Graham added: “We are a progressive, family orientated club who look to develop all our players of whatever ability to reach their full potential and enjoy our great sport.”
