Wigan Warriors won their third consecutive Super League match following a 20-16 victory over unlucky Salford.
Salford, confident following two consecutive league victories themselves, had come from 16-2 behind to even the game up.
However a controversial late try from Dom Manfredi, moments after Taulima Tautai had appeared to drop the ball, gave Warriors a solid victory.
Despite the Red Devils taking the lead through an early penalty, Wigan were 10-2 up at the break thanks to two tries from former Salford loanee Oliver Gildart.
When Gelling scored his first of the evening to make it 16-2, the game appeared to be over. However Salford refused to give in and levelled the scores following three tries through Junior Sa’u, Josh Griffin and Ben Murdoch-Masila.
However with the game looking set to end in a draw, Manfredi scored to win the match.
