If Wakefield Trinity Wildcats appoint a new head coach by Friday, they will be without Jason Walton for their first game in charge.
The utility has been handed a one-match suspension by the RFL for a dangerous throw on St Helens’ Jon Wilkin during their 44-4 defeat to Saints on Friday.
Walton, 25, submitted his early guilty plea and was subsequently given the minimum punishment.
