Leigh Centurions coach Neil Jukes is confident new signing Josh Drinkwater can have an impact at the club, after having watched every game he’s played this season.
The former London Broncos playmaker arrived at the club last week from Wests Tigers.
He was playing for their feeder club in the New South Wales Cup and his form there is thought to have attracted the attention of Bradford, amongst other clubs.
Drinkwater, 23, also won the man of the match award in NSW Residents’ recent victory over Queensland Residents at Langlands Park in Brisbane.
But the Centurions stole a march on their rivals by bringing the halfback in for the rest of the year, and Jukes believes he can significantly add to the side’s options.
Jukes said: “From the initial conversations we’ve had I think he’ll really add to the team.
“He’s a good bloke who wants to achieve things, not only personally for his career, but for Leigh as well.
“He’s had a lot of accolades for the way he was playing in Australia, and I’ve watched every round of the New South Wales Cup that he’s played in.
“There were other clubs in for him, but his agent already has players at Leigh and the feedback from those guys about the club and how it works certainly helped us.”
