Wigan go joint top after victory at Castleford

Wigan Warriors moved level on points with Hull FC at the top of Super League following their 33-26 victory over Castleford Tigers.

Two tries for Josh Charnley helped the Warriors secure victory, with a late Matty Smith drop-goal making sure Shaun Wane’s side left with the two points.

Tries through Charnley and Sam Tomkins helped Wigan to a 14-12 half-time lead, with Paul McShane and Denny Solomona replying for the hosts.

A Dom Manfredi try shortly after half-time, which occurred while Jake Webster was in the sin-bin, extended the lead, and although Solomona and Webster scored for a Cas, a Sam Powell try in between meant the Warriors were always on top.
