Leeds Rhinos head coach Brian McDermott admitted his side’s latest poor performance was ‘worrying’.
The defending champions put in another underwhelming display as they were thumped 52-18 by Warrington Wolves, who moved to the top of Super League as a result.
Despite only trailing 18-12 at the break, the Rhinos were overawed in the second half, going on to suffer their heaviest Super League defeat to Warrington.
“Defensively we were right off tonight,” McDermott said.
“In the first half we did some things to get ourselves in a position to be competitive but we were too loose defensively.
“I thought we lost our defensive integrity tonight.
“Warrington were very good. They’ve had some adversity themselves in the last couple of weeks and they answered a fair few questions tonight.
“But the whole game is about preventing people from being as good as they want to be and that starts with a loss in collision.”
A full report and further reaction will be in Monday’s League Express.
