Nu’uausala eager to get to Wigan for St Helens derby

New Wigan Warriors signing Frank-Paul Nu’uausala has said he can’t wait to sample the atmosphere of a Wigan-St Helens derby for the first time – and he hopes it will be next month.

Nu’uausala is currently awaiting a visa before flying halfway across the world to join the Warriors on a deal until the end of 2019.

And he told Wigan Today that he’s been briefed on the ferocity of the world famous derby between the two sides by a close friend who plays on the opposite side!

“I’ve got a good mate at St Helens, Lama Tasi, and Sia is one my best mates – he actually gave me stick for going to Wigan! I’m not sure he’s happy about it,” he said.

“He told me all about the rivalry. He told me it’s similar to the Roosters-Souths games here and I cant’ wait to be a part of that.”

Nu’uausala also said he can’t wait to pull the club’s famous shirt on for the first time.

“I know they’re a strong club and I’ll be proud to wear the cherry and white.”
