AMATEUR Rugby League sides have been given the opportunity to train with their Super League heroes – thanks to an initiative launched by Batchelors Peas, the official partner of the First Utility Super League.
Batchelors are aiming to unearth the local side that most deserves to learn new skills from some of the best players in the game and the offer is open to all age groups, from Primary Rugby League and schools through to Open Age level.
The lucky winners will benefit from advice from their favourite team’s coaching staff, following which up to 20 players will take part in drills, exercises and friendly competition with their chosen side’s star players.
Chris Wright, Marketing Director at Princes – the manufacturer of Batchelors Peas – said: “We’ve had a great time with fans of all teams since the start of the season and we wanted to give something back.
“This is an unforgettable, money-can’t-buy opportunity and we hope as many people as possible will try and win it for their club.”
All grassroots hopefuls have to do is submit three reasons why their club deserves to win, together with name, age, address, telephone number and details of the amateur team in question – plus, of course, the identity of the Super League team they would like to train with. Under 18s must provide the name and contact details of their parent or legal guardian.
Emails should be sent to batchelorspeas@princes.co.uk by Wednesday 24 August.
The prize, meanwhile, must be taken in the week commencing Monday 12 September, and the promoter will support travel to the training session if required.
For logistical reasons, the prize excludes Catalans Dragons.
