Wigan stay in the mix with victory over Hull FC

Wigan kept their League Leaders’ Shield hopes alive as they defeated Challenge Cup winners Hull FC 18-12.

Despite George Williams putting Wigan ahead, they trailed 12-4 at half-time after Hull scored through Fetuli Talanoa and Mahe Fonua.

However, Sam Powell pulled Wigan back into the game with a score before Taulima Tautai’s 77th minute try put them ahead late on, with Matty Smith’s late penalty ending the scoring.

Both teams are now three points behind the current league leaders, Warrington.

A full report will be in Monday’s League Express.
