Hull Kingston Rovers have signed two more young forwards to their 2017 squad in Kieran Moran and new arrival George Milton.
City of Hull Academy graduate Moran made his first-team debut for the club earlier this season and went on to a earn a full-time contract until the end of 2018, a deal he will honour despite a drop to the Kingstone Press Championship.
Meanwhile, Milton joins Hull KR from Doncaster on a two-year contract as the club’s fourth new signing for next season. A former England Academy international, the 21-year-old came through the ranks at Leeds and is a prop or loose forward by trade.
Milton, who was Doncaster’s forward of the year last season, will join Tim Sheens’ squad for pre-season training at the Lightstream Stadium on Monday, whilst Moran will join his team-mates the following week after his international commitments with Scotland in the Four Nations.
Hull KR’s Head of Rugby Jamie Peacock said: “It’s promising news both for next season and the long-term future of the club to bring these two on board.
“Kieran came into the side from the City of Hull Academy earlier in the year and earned a full-time deal. He’ll really benefit from having a full pre-season with us along with his experiences as part of the Scotland squad for the Four Nations.
“As for George, he is a young player with a lot of potential and I’m pleased he wants to join the club. He’s a tough young forward with plenty of skill and he’ll really complement our squad in 2017.
“He’s got a good pedigree and I’ve seen and heard good things about him, so we’re looking forward to bringing him into our full-time environment and helping him to further develop as a player.”
