New Zealand prepared for the Four Nations final by training at Liverppol’s training base today, and thanked the famous football club in suitable fashion… by performing the haka.
The Kiwis made the trip just three days before they take on Australia in the showpiece at Anfield.
After going through their training session, the entire team took part in the haka to a number of Liverpool players, including Dejan Lovren and Simon Mingolet, which earned them a standing ovation.
New Zealand RL hold a strong relationship with the Premier League club. The world’s number one ranked side also trained at Liverpool’s complex last year, with current head coach David Kidwell spending time with the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
37,000 tickets have been sold so far for the final, with RFL officials hopeful that figure will rise to 40,000.
