Lunt to captain Rovers in 2018

Hull Kingston Rovers hooker Shaun Lunt will remain as the club’s captain in 2018.

Lunt, who played a pivotal role in the club’s promotion last year, took on the captaincy last year and won the Championship Player of the Year as the Robins secured a return to Super League at the first attempt.

“I’m delighted, especially to lead the side in Super League after we got promoted last year. The captaincy is something I’m privileged to have and it’s great for my family as well. My kids are over the moon that I’ve been made captain again and that makes it extra special.

“It was quite strange really, because I really enjoyed being captain last season, leading the team out and getting involved behind the scenes, but it didn’t really change me as a player. I just kept doing what I always do and it paid off.

“I’ve always made it clear how much I love this club and how much playing for Hull Kingston Rovers means to me, so to have the chance to be captain again is a massive honour.”
