SALFORD RED DEVILS have been one of Super League’s surprise packages under Paul Rowley.
Spending the least amount on the salary cap in the league, the Red Devils have put together a squad capable of challenging for silverware.
The likes of Brodie Croft, Tim Lafai and Kallum Watkins have all penned new deals at the Salford Stadium as Rowley looks to nail down his most important players.
And there is another potential deal on the horizon with League Express understanding that Shane Wright has been offered a new two-year deal to take the Australian into his third and fourth season with the Red Devils.
Wright, who joined Salford ahead of the 2022 Super League season, endured a difficult first year in the UK with injury setting the second-rower back.
However, the former North Queensland Cowboys star has taken 2023 in his stride, becoming one of the most in-form forwards in the competition.
His agent, Chris Orr, told League Express: “He is enjoying the role he is playing, the more footy he gets.
“He got banged up a bit last year and spent a lot of time on the sidelines due to injury, but the more footy he gets the better he is trying to perform.
“Salford are trying to re-sign him and are trying to give him two years. He is doing a great job and I see Shane sticking around.”
There could well be more good news emanating from the Salford Stadium for Red Devils fans in the near future then!
