BARROW RAIDERS are weighing the prospect of retaining fan favourite Tee Ritson on a longer loan spell from St Helens.
Ritson scored 70 tries in 73 appearances in his first stint at the club and returned on a two-week loan to play against Goole in the 1895 Cup and Oldham in the league.
“I got a warm welcome from all of the lads and all of the coaching staff. It was good to be back,” said Ritson.
“It’s initially for two weeks, but there’s an option for it to keep rolling.
“The main thing is that I’m happy to be playing again and happy to get some game time. Barrow is a club that is close to my heart.”
Ritson’s loan spell was provided by the Blue and White Knights group of club sponsors who provide funds for Barrow’s playing budget.
“They can’t fund it forever because we’re paying quite a lot of money for him to be here week to week,” said Raiders coach Paul Crarey.
“That was the deal, but we thought we needed him because we’re carrying niggles and sprains.
“It’s great for our fans. He’s a try-scorer. He came in and straight away was outstanding.”
