HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS have been rocked by a season-ending injury blow to talisman Tui Lolohea.
Lolohea sustained a quad tear in Huddersfield’s 30-14 Super League win over Hull FC at the end of July.
The 30-year-old has played in 16 of the Giants’ 20 Super League fixtures during the 2025 campaign, scoring six tries and kicking one goal.
It is yet another blow for Luke Robinson’s side, who have been plagued by injuries throughout this season and have also lost winger Adam Swift for a significant portion of the run-in with an issue also picked up against Hull.
On halfback Lolohea, Robinson said: “It’s not a small one, it’s a 16-week injury, which is horrendous for Tui and horrendous for us because he’s been one of our gamebreakers.
“He’s been one who has opened up defences in the last few weeks and along with (Matt) Frawley was building a decent combination.
“We won’t just lose him for the remainder of the year, we’ll lose him for a piece of pre-season as well which is unfortunate.
“Also Swifty in the middle of the game did his adductor. We were a little bit concerned he would be out for the full season but it looks like he could get back for the last couple of games of the season if all goes to plan.
“It’s disappointing in one respect with Swifty but we thought it might be worse.”
