Martin Gleeson finds new coaching role following Warrington Wolves exit

MARTIN GLEESON has found a new coaching role following his exit from Warrington Wolves.

Gleeson has not only left Warrington but rugby league altogether, linking up with Premiership rugby union side Bath.

The former Great Britain international was a notable appointment by the Wire in late 2023, taking a permanent role – following a short advisory stint – when Sam Burgess arrived as head coach.

He had previously been attack coach for the England rugby union national team and took on a similar brief back in the 13-a-side code with Warrington.

But after a disappointing season with Warrington in 2025 – in which the Wolves failed to make the play-offs – Gleeson’s exit was confirmed by “mutual agreement”.

Now he will link up with Bath as backs and attack coach to replace Lee Blackett, who has joined the England national set-up as attack coach.
