Ben Condon released by Widnes Vikings ahead of Super League move

WIDNES VIKINGS have released Ben Condon, who is being linked with both Catalans Dragons and Leigh Leopards, and Finlay Irwin.

Widnes signed experienced Australian secondrow Condon, 25, from Queensland Cup side Central Queensland Capras in mid-season, and he scored five tries in ten appearances.

The former NRL player (he represented both North Queensland Cowboys and Manly Sea Eagles) had been due to join Leigh for the 2025 campaign but the move stalled due to an injury.

Coleman said of Condon: “What a player, and what a presence. I’m thankful he has been a part of our club.”

Ex-Wigan Academy and Reserves backrow Irwin was signed in July after a spell at Brisbane Tigers in Australia and featured once for Widnes.
