Wigan Warriors seal major partnership with top gambling company

WIGAN WARRIORS have announced a new major partnership with the Tote, which will become the club’s official principal partner and will feature on the front of the 2026 home and away playing shirts for the next three years.

The Tote’s Headquarters are based in Wigan.

It is a British gambling company founded in 1928 and, according to Wikipedia, it operates the world’s largest online pool betting website.

The Tote was established and owned by the UK Government until July 2011, when it was sold to Betfred for £265 million. It was sold to the UK Tote Group – a consortium of over 150 individual investors involved in the sport as racehorse owners and breeders – in October 2019 for £115 million. It has retail outlets on 58 of the UK’s 59 racecourses, as well as an online division.

Speaking on the partnership, Alex Frost, Chief Executive of the Tote, said: “Everyone at the Tote is so proud to be standing alongside Wigan Warriors as their new principal partner.

“We are bringing together two iconic Wigan institutions to celebrate our town, our people and our shared sporting spirit. Many of our 200 Tote colleagues are lifelong supporters of Wigan Warriors, so this partnership means so much to them. We can’t wait to be part of the journey with the club and its fans over the next three years.”

Wigan Warriors CEO, Kris Radlinski MBE, said: “This is a very special partnership for us. The Tote has decades of history in Wigan and bringing together our two names feels like the perfect fit.

“Alongside the Tote we look forward to celebrating our town and our community. We’re excited to work closely with everyone at the Tote to create memorable moments for our fans and to show the power of Wigan when we stand together.”

Lisa Nandy MP, Member of Parliament for Wigan and Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport added: “Wigan Warriors and the Tote are two of our town’s most well-known institutions that make crucial contributions to the local economy – providing jobs, opportunities and tapping into the renowned passion for sport we have in Wigan.

“This partnership will help build stronger links between the two and I look forward to seeing how they can work together to have a positive impact in the local community. I also wish Wigan Warriors all the best for a successful 2026 season – I’ll be cheering them on.”

David Molyneux MBE, Executive Leader of Wigan Council, also said: “I’m delighted to see Wigan Warriors and the Tote partner together. They are both very important organisations in our town, being internationally renowned brands and making a significant economic contribution to the Borough. Everyone at Wigan Council will be cheering the partnership on!”
