NORTH WALES CRUSADERS have signed experienced forward Brad England from Keighley Cougars, who said they were “deeply disappointed” by his request for a release.
England played 20 times for Keighley after joining from Featherstone Rovers, initially on loan, in 2024, and had agreed an extension for next season.
Prior to that has spent three years at Bradford Bulls, and has also spent time with Doncaster, amassing 141 career appearances.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for me and my family to join the League One champions,” said England, 31.
“It gives me the chance to play alongside some quality players and test myself against top Championship competition. I’m looking forward to meeting all the players and the challenge ahead.”
Keighley said in a statement that they “will now work hard to bring in a quality replacement in due course”.
Meanwhile, North Wales have agreed a new contract with star halfback Jordy Gibson until the end of 2028.
Gibson returned to the Crusaders for a second spell ahead of last season and scored 11 tries and 39 goals in their title win.
“I really loved being back at the club and having the success we had last year,” said the 33-year-old.
