GOOLE VIKINGS signing Harry Medlicott says Scott Taylor is the perfect coach as gears up for his bow in the professional game in England.
The 25-year-old was coached at university in Leeds by Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Blake Austin, and after completing his studies, headed to Australia, where he played in the Queensland Cup for Souths Logan Magpies.
After being picked up by Goole following his return home, Medlicott will make his professional debut when Goole start the new Championship season and the frontrower wants to learn as much as he can from coach Taylor, an international prop in his playing days.
He said: “As soon as I heard about the opportunity, I knew I wanted it.
“Everything I heard from the lads about the environment and the club was positive. Goole is the place to be.
“Scott is probably the perfect coach for me. He’s been there and done everything in the game, and as a middle myself, I’ll be picking his brains constantly.
“I want to learn, work hard and take myself to that next level.”
