WHITEHAVEN have added local prospect Xenden Callander to their squad for next season.
The 18-year-old joins from neighboring amateur side Lowca following a successful trial period.
Callander, who can play at centre or on the wing, represented England Community Lions in this year’s successful Four Nations campaign.
Haven coach Anthony Murray said: “He’s got a really good work ethic and attitude, he has loved the training and has been an absolute beast.
“How he has put himself across in training was enough for me to sign him. He is the type of a player that we want – young, hungry and wanting to play for Whitehaven.
“It’s really good to see that young players want to come here because they know they’re going to get an opportunity and going to be in a good environment.
“I’m really excited to see what he is going to bring to the team.”
