BATLEY BULLDOGS coach James Ford has handed experienced halfback Ben Reynolds the number 6 shirt, with prop Robson Stevens, another recruit from his former club Featherstone Rovers, taking 13.

Ex-Super League player Reynolds is one of three prime pivots now at the club, joining Josh Woods, who will wear 7, and Ben White (14).

With Reynolds serving the first of a two-match suspension incurred while at Featherstone, White and Woods figured in the 18-0 Boxing Day Challenge win at Dewsbury Rams, when Ford saw centre Jack Hudson (20), brought in from Huddersfield Giants, cross for a try, with winger Joe Burton (2) going over twice.

Former Leeds Rhinos Academy, Bradford Bulls and Hunslet player Burton crossed eleven times in 25 games last season after scoring 22 in 33 in 2024.

Ford’s side have a second warm-up match at home to Sheffield Eagles on Sunday, January 11.
