HALIFAX PANTHERS have snapped up St Helens forward Leon Cowen on a season-long loan.
The Saints Academy graduate did play for Halifax during the 2025 season on dual registration, making nine appearances for the West Yorkshire side.
The 21-year-old also made his debut for Saints in Super League last season and went on to register two appearances for his boyhood club.
His efforts were rewarded with a new deal in October 2025, with Cowen now contracted to Saints until the end of 2026.
St Helens boss Paul Rowley said: “We are happy that Leon is joining Halifax Panthers where he will get consistent rugby at a fantastic club.
“I trust Halifax will look after him and hold him to the good standards that they set.”
Halifax will begin their 2026 campaign this coming weekend with a trip to Doncaster RLFC on Sunday.
