HUNSLET centre Myles Harrop is looking forward to recovering from a hamstring issue and recreating a productive partnership with seasoned stand-off Lee Gaskell.
Former Rochdale player Harrop got the early try which set Kyle Trout’s side on their way to a third successive league win, 30-10 at Whitehaven, but picked up a niggle.
The 27-year-old who started out at the old Salford and has also been at Swinton had crossed three times in total in Hunslet’s previous victories over Keighley (away) and Newcastle (home).
And Harrop, who was signed over the close-season, says former Super League man Gaskell, who is still going strong at 35, has been great for his game.
“I have a good relationship with Gaskey. We have been working well together and he has put me in for a few tries,” he said.
“I’ve been enjoying my rugby. I’ve been getting the ball in my hands and Kyle gives me the freedom to do what I do.”
Having hosted Workington, due to a bye round then the quarter-finals of the 1895 Cup, Hunslet have a lay-off until visiting Barrow on Sunday, May 24.
And Harrop added: “That gives me a chance to get some treatment and be ready for that game, so fingers crossed.”
