New deal for Catalans Dragons stalwart Julian Bousquet

JULIAN BOUSQUET has committed to a 16th season with Catalans Dragons.

The stalwart French prop has amassed 313 appearances since joining the club from Lézignan, putting him second only to Rémi Casty (337) in Dragons history.

Bousquet and captain Ben Garcia are the two survivors from the 2018 Challenge Cup-winning team while he was also a key figure in their 2021 League Leaders’ Shield success.

Despite turning 35 next month, Bousquet has penned a new deal until the end of 2027 and he said: “I am very happy to extend my contract for another year.

“It’s a great opportunity to support the development of young players and share my experience with them.

“I thank Bernard (Guasch, Catalans owner) and the entire club for their trust and support.”

Bousquet joins fellow prop Romain Navarrete, who will stay at Stade Gilbert Brutus until 2028, in signing a contract extension.
