20 Questions: Getting to know Hull FC fullback prospect Logan Moy

Hull FC youngster Logan Moy is next in the hot seat to tackle our 20 Questions.

1 How are you finding your current run in the team?

It’s great. We’re at that stage where we want to end the season on a high and get a good few games together and get some wins. It’s been tough for the team, but I’ve come in and I just want to be playing, so I’m over the moon with that. Hopefully I can keep this run going until the end of the season.

2 How do you think you’ve improved over the last couple of years since making your breakthrough?

Massively. I’ve put on a bit of size and I need to keep that going. I think I was about ten kilos lighter when I made my debut than I am now, and I’m still not the heaviest. I was in the gym twice a day and got a lot of calories down me. Skill-wise, it’s a big step up from reserves and academy, and playing in the Championship helped. I’m slowly developing but there’s a long way to go.

3 Do you have any particular goals for your career?

I just want to be winning. I’d love to win all the comps; that would be a big thing. Everyone looks to the NRL and it would be great to have a go in Australia, but if my whole career was in Super League I’d still be over the moon with that.

4 Who was your rugby league icon growing up?

At one point it would have been Danny Houghton (below), which is mad because I ended up playing with him. He was definitely up there for me, as was Jamie Shaul, being a full-back.

5 Do you have any game-day superstitions?

I like to have pancakes in the morning, which gets some fruit in me! And go out for a coffee.

6 What has been the greatest moment of your career so far?

I’d have to say when I scored in the derby against KR in 2024. We lost the game but we were still in it at that point.

7 Who has been the toughest opponent you have faced?

It’ll probably be a centre, when I’ve been jammed out the back one or two times! I’ve been jammed by Jake Wardle once or twice. Jason Qareqare got me a good one.

8 If you weren’t a rugby league player, what would you be doing?

Before I started full-time at Hull, I was working for my dad a little bit – he’s a tiler. I potentially could have gone down that route. But I think I’d have ended up doing something a bit different. I’m not sure I could stick to the same thing day in, day out. I might have got a trade behind me but then tried to venture out a bit. I’ve always liked the idea of having my own clothing brand – not your regular job but something a bit different.

9 If you could attend any sporting event in the world, which would it be?

I think I’d like to go to a basketball game. I’m not a massive fan but I just think it would be a bit different – I like what they do there in the NBA.

10 If you could be on any celebrity TV or reality TV show, which would it be?

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has to be up there; I’d like to see if I could get through all the challenges. It would be a good laugh.

11 Where is the most interesting place you have visited on holiday?

Cancun in Mexico – it was nice and chilled, but some of the views were mad.

12 What is your favourite film?

I quite like Interstellar. I like Legend, about the Kray twins. And the Disney film Moana has got to get a mention from me!

13 Which superpower would you most like to have?

Teleportation so I can get about easily; that would be a handy one.

14 Where do you see yourself in 20 years’ time?

I’ll be 40, so I reckon I’ll be finished in rugby by then. Hopefully I’ve got something behind me – maybe in a coaching role, still around the game.

15 Do you have any hidden talents?

I can backflip; that’s as good as I’ve got.

16 What’s your most embarrassing moment?

Falling over – I’ve done it going to the gym and slipped around the pool a few times. No injuries, but I’ve had a few people in the pool looking at me and you just have to get up awkwardly and try to play it off!

17 What annoys you more than anything?

I don’t like crumbs. If someone is eating crisps in bed or something, that’s annoying. I wouldn’t let any food go near my bed. No crumbs in the bedroom. I like it nice and clean. And sand annoys me – when you come off the beach and have it in your shoes, it’s not nice.

18 What hobbies do you have outside of the game?

I quite like padel. I try not to do it too much because of the risk of injury, but it’s good. I like golf, and I like walks.

19 Is there a star from another sport you admire?

You’ve got Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy from golf, and Mike Tyson and Anthony Joshua in boxing. Not any that I particularly enjoy, but the ones at the peak, who reached the top of the game.

20 What is the one thing you could not live without?

People. My family, everyone around me. It would be a boring life without them; you need people around you all the time. I’m never by myself, I’m always with friends or family.
