AUSTRALIAN prop Jaimin Jolliffe has signed a three-year contract with Huddersfield Giants.
Ireland international Jolliffe, who turns 30 in November, is currently with Gold Coast Titans, and is working his way back from a knee injury after playing more than 100 times for them in the NRL.
He is well known to Giants coach Jim Lenihan from his stint at Gold Coast.
“This is a really good addition for us,” said Lenihan.
“He’s played a lot of first grade for the Titans, he adds to our middles and what we’re trying to do here at the Giants.
“He adds to us with leadership on and off the field. We have a younger pack and to add Jimmy to that at 30 with all of his experience in the NRL is great.
“He had opportunities to stay over there (in the NRL) but wanted a change and we feel it’s a perfect fit for us.”
Jolliffe had reconstruction surgery after damaging an anterior cruciate ligament during pre-season training.
He made his NRL debut in 2020 after playing in the New South Wales Cup for Newtown Jets.
Jolliffe played twice for Ireland, for whom he qualifies through a grandmother, in the 2022 World Cup, staged in England.
Meanwhile, the Giants are being linked with former London Broncos and Warrington halfback Oliver Leyland.
Leyland, 25, has left Warrington after making just five appearances for them, all last season before sustaining a knee injury.
He recently featured for Huddersfield’s Reserve team, helping them win 50-6 at St Helens.
Born in Maidstone, Kent, Leyland came through London’s old Academy system and turned out 95 times at first-team level before switch to Warrington ahead of last season.
Twenty-seven of his games for the Broncos were during the 2024 Super League campaign.
