KURT HAGGERTY has admitted that he is ‘flattered’ by speculation linking himself with the vacant position at St Helens.
The Merseyside club are on the hunt for a new head coach following the exit of Paul Rowley last week, and Haggerty’s stock continues to rise with the Bulls continuing to play an exciting brand of rugby despite an extensive injury list.
Haggerty still resides in St Helens and knows the town well, but he insists he is more than content at Bradford.
In the wake of Bradford’s 42-12 defeat to Leeds Rhinos at the weekend, he said: “It’s funny, it’s flattering to be linked with them kind of jobs.
“I’ve had a couple of messages but that’s a big club, I’m at a big club now and I’m enjoying the journey here.”
Haggerty has also spoken to Rowley since his exit from Saints. “I dropped him a message a couple of days ago,” he continued.
“I left him initially because I know it would be very raw to him. but I know Paul, he’s a chilled out guy and I just wanted to make sure he’s doing okay and yeah, he is doing okay.”
