ADRIAN LAM admitted Leigh Leopards’ 22-14 win over York Knights was “hard to watch”.
His play-off chasing side had to see off a brave York outfit to get back to winning ways.
Lam said: “It was hard to watch at times. There were too many stop‑starts in my opinion. It just ruins the flow and momentum of the game.
“It was a real ding‑dong battle tonight. We looked and played flat. On nights like this, as we’ve always learnt, we’ve got to find a way to win and we did that. I’m happy that the players found a way to win.
“I thought Lockie (Lachlan) Lam was really influential. I thought he was awesome tonight.
“I thought too that Joe Ofahengaue was brilliant. He’s one of the best forwards in Super League.
“York don’t go away. They don’t get blown out. That shows a team that’s committed to each other.
“We found a way to win under pressure when things weren’t going our way and that’s courage.
“We want to be a more consistent team for 80 minutes. We’ve got five games to get it right now.”
Next up is a trip to Leeds Rhinos on Thursday, and Lam added: “We’ve got a six‑day turnaround now into the team leading the competition.
“The one thing I’ll take out of tonight was that we learned as a group how to manage a little bit better.”
