CANBERRA RAIDERS legend Josh Papalii has snubbed interest from Super League to retire at the end of the 2026 NRL campaign.
Papalii had been heavily linked with a move to St Helens last year, but decided to etch a new one-year deal with the Raiders.
The veteran prop was again linked with Super League in July, but the 34-year-old has decided to hang up his boots instead.
He said: “This career is maybe only reality because of the boys I play with week in and week out, and they are the special memories and bonds I’m going to miss as a player.
“I’m sure when Friday comes and we get that win, we will have a few beverages, but for now, it’s just soaking in the week and it will be a good time to say my goodbyes to the NRL world.
“When the 2026 season ends, I’m announcing my retirement from the NRL.”
Papalii has registered 340 appearances for the Raiders since debuting for the club back in 2011 and has been capped four times by Australia and ten times for Samoa.
