Zane Dunford set for surgery as Huddersfield Giants star out for season

ZANE DUNFORD will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on a shoulder problem, Huddersfield Giants head coach Jim Lenihan has confirmed.

Dunford only joined the Giants in June on a deal until the end of 2027 and has gone on to make nine appearances, impressing in his short stint so far at the Accu Stadium.

However, the former Brisbane Tigers forward is going under the knife to ensure his shoulder is right for pre-season.

“He’s getting a bit of a clean-up with an AC joint in his shoulder. He has been carrying it now for a while,” Lenihan said.

“We want to get him fixed up so he hits the ground running in pre-season. It will be eight-to-twelve weeks recovery.”
