JOHN CARTWRIGHT said his Catalans Dragons side “didn’t play smart” after losing a lead against Hull FC.
Catalans were 26-14 in front heading into the final quarter, yet conspired to lose 26-27.
Cartwright said: “I’m pretty disappointed.
“We started both halves really poorly. We worked out how to play and then in the second half, we did a fair job for about 15-20 minutes and then we went away from it and tried to do fancy things that we didn’t need to.
“It was pretty obvious where we were having success, which was down through the middle of the field, and we went away from it.
“We didn’t control the game. When you’re in front by that score, you’ve got to control the game and we played like we were the ones behind.
“It’s hard to win a game at this level, but a home game with a big crowd was a big opportunity for us and I really thought we didn’t play smart.
“We didn’t stick to the plan and we got what we deserved at the end.”
