Sylvain Houles hails ‘important’ Toulouse Olympique win over champions

SYLVAIN HOULES was proud to see Toulouse Olympique defeat Hull KR 32-12 and move up to ninth in Super League.

“It is probably not the best win of the season but it is a very important win,” said the Toulouse coach.

“We played well but there have also been other games were we have played well.

“Obviously we need to credit Hull KR with them having played three games in nine days.

“We knew there would be some fatigue in there, and obviously they ran out of petrol in the tank.”

On the controversial Anthony Marion try that didn’t look to be grounded, Houles said: “I have asked Anthony and he says he scored it. He said he put it down and I do believe him.

“I have watched it but didn’t see much on the video. It’s a tough one. I thought it was very smart from us, Arthur Mourgue was on the line and we chipped over and Anthony was there to regather.

“We have been on the end of some 50/50 calls this year and it’s nice to come out on top with that one.

“That gave us some momentum but I believe we were already changing the momentum at that point. The beginning of the second half we could have been broken, but we turned it around.”
