WARRINGTON WOLVES coach Sam Burgess had no complaints after his side’s tense loss to Wakefield Trinity.
He stated he was pleased with his side’s performance after Trinity edged the Wolves in a tight 25-18 fixture.
“It was a great contest, both teams were very good,” Burgess said.
“There were a couple of moments in the first half that if we would have taken, and then likewise some we didn’t stop on the other side, it could have been a different game. But the big games are like that.
“Overall I’m very happy with the team. The second half we just never got going, but we tried our best and we fought right till the end. I was very proud of the game.
“The result was quite irrelevant, it was more about the performance. And I was very happy with the performance. The boys are ready for the play-offs, they’re ready to go.”
Warrington lost Sam Stone in the second half and Burgess confirmed the forward had failed his head-injury assessment.
