ROCHDALE HORNETS chairman Andy Mazey reckons Alex Chippendale will prove a key retention.
The 19-year-old outside back has made seven appearances since his June arrival from Huddersfield, where he came through the Academy to earn a first-team debut as a winger in March’s 52-12 home defeat by Hull KR in round four of the Challenge Cup.
He has signed a contract extension for 2027 and Mazey said: “Chippy is a talented and committed young professional.
“He’s really impressed with his attitude since arriving, and the feedback has been nothing but positive.
“He has displayed tremendous commitment and courage in his performances to date, and with a quality pre-season, we believe he will be bigger, stronger and better next year.”
Chippendale said: “It’s been a really positive move. The team, management and fans are exactly what a young player like me needs in his early stages. I’m really looking forward to next season.”
Meanwhile Rochdale have signed Keighley outside back Dylan Proud.
