HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS have signed Will Tate from Wakefield Trinity on a two-year deal.
Tate has scored seven tries in ten appearances for Trinity since joining Daryl Powell’s side from local rivals Castleford Tigers ahead of this season.
The 24-year-old winger or centre registered eight tries in 15 games over the course of two-and-a-half seasons with the Tigers after coming through the ranks at Hull KR.
Ahead of his move to Huddersfield, who finished the season with six wins from eight under coach Jim Lenihan, Tate said: “I want to be part of something that’s growing and I want to grow with this team.
“I can see the improvements over the last few months and I’m excited to be a part of it.
“I’ve had a chat with (ex-Hull KR teammate) George King and he’s told me how good the boys are, so I’m really excited to get to Huddersfield and get started.”
Director of rugby Andy Kelly added: “We’re trying to get a squad that has Super League experience and he’ll be an asset.
“He comes highly recommended and I’m confident that he’ll be liked by everyone for the player he is and how he commits himself to what he does.”
