LIAM HOOD has signed a new deal with Castleford Tigers for 2027, Total Rugby League can reveal.
The 34-year-old had etched a one-year contract with the Tigers for 2026, with the option of a further year included.
And now that further year has been triggered as the veteran hooker rejects any claim of retirement for the foreseeable future.
Hood made 17 appearances in his first season at the OneBore Stadium, scoring four tries.
However, the wily hooker spent more than two months sidelined with a serious neck injury, with initial fears that the problem would force the former Wakefield Trinity number nine into an early retirement.
Hood returned to the field in July and will be running round in a Castleford shirt again in 2027, though he will face competition from new signing Damien Cook.
