WAKEFIELD TRINITY prop Emre Guler has failed in his challenge of the punching charge that has ruled him out of the play-offs.

Guler received a Grade E charge following his dismissal in last Friday’s eliminator win over Leigh Leopards for an incident involving Owen Trout.

He was given a two-match ban, meaning he’d miss not only this Saturday’s semi-final trip to Wigan Warriors, but also the Grand Final should Wakefield make it.

An operational rules tribunal rejected the Australian’s appeal and, as a result, added further penalty points to his record which take him above the threshold for a three-game suspension.

Guler, who has only made four Trinity appearances since signing from St George Illawarra Dragons last month, will now miss at least one game at the start of next season.
