Quintet leave relegated Leigh Leopards

LEIGH LEOPARDS have confirmed that five of their leading stars have left the club following relegation from Super League.

Mairead Quinn, Becky Greenfield and Alice Fisher have decided to retire while Storm Cobain and Hattie Dogus will take up new opportunities.

After making more than 150 appearances for Leigh Miners, Quinn became an integral part of the Leopards when they launched in 2022 and captained them to victory in the promotion final in 2024.

Having missed the entire 2025 season to become a mum to son Tommy, Quinn returned to captain the side once again this year.

Greenfield joined from Wigan, where she was part of the 2018 Grand Final-winning team and over the last three seasons, has made 24 appearances for Leigh.

Fisher hangs up her boots after representing Bradford and Wigan as well as Leigh.

She did not feature at all in 2026 after suffering a hand injury in pre-season and more recently undergoing shoulder surgery.

Ireland international Cobain, who captained Leigh in Quinn’s absence, joined in 2023 after taking up Rugby League with Bedford Tigers, and will return south to focus on new work and personal commitments, while Dogus is taking time out of the game to travel to Australia.

A statement on the club website read: “Mairead, Becky, Alice, Storm and Hattie have all played an important part in the story of Leigh Leopards, and their contributions will be remembered as the club continues to grow.

“From those bringing their playing careers to an end, to those moving on to new opportunities, everyone at the club would like to place on record sincere thanks for their efforts in the jersey.”
