TYRELL SLOAN has emphatically put to bed any speculation that he will not be joining Castleford Tigers for the next two seasons.
Castleford confirmed his capture from St George Illawarra Dragons in July, and the outside back went on to enjoy a tremendous end to the 2026 season.
That led to the Australian media fuelling speculation that Sloan would be an NRL player next season, despite him already signing a two-year deal with the Tigers.
Castleford have always been confident that the 24-year-old would be playing at the OneBore Stadium in 2027, and now Sloan has affirmed his commitment to the West Yorkshire side.
“I’ve signed for the next two years so I’m looking forward to getting over there and playing some good footy,” Sloan said.
“I don’t pay too much attention to it, I’m in off-season mode at the moment so all the outside noise, I don’t see too much of it.”
Sloan also emphasised that the move has been made easy with fellow St George players Mat Feagai and Damien Cook also joining the Tigers.
He said: “We’re not over until mid-November, so we’ve still got a bit of time to get settled in, but with the boys [Cook and Feagai] it’s been really easy, and I’m sure the move will be too, having some boys with me that I’m really close with.”
