HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS have added some extra strength to their pack with the signing of Charlotte Melvin from relegated Leigh Leopards.
In what proved to be a tough year for the Leopards, Melvin finished as the club’s top points scorer and was a key player throughout, with the strong running back-rower catching the eye of Giants head coach Nathan Graham when the two sides met.
“We are really glad Charlotte has agreed to join us for the 2027 season,” said Graham.
“She impressed against us last season when we played Leigh. She’s a handful carrying the ball and can defend too. She’s also an accomplished goal kicker which is invaluable.
“I’m looking forward to working with her and seeing what she can bring to the squad.”
Melvin added: “I’m excited to be joining Huddersfield Giants for the 2027 season.
“I felt like it was the right time for a new challenge and an opportunity to push myself, and I believe huddersfield will be the perfect place for that.
“I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and to be a part of a new environment. I can’t wait to see where we go and what we can achieve together as a team.”
