Jack Martin signs long-term deal with York Knights

YORK KNIGHTS have handed a new three-year deal to Jack Martin.

After arriving from Australia in the summer of 2024, Martin was named York’s Forward of the Year in 2025 and 2026.

And the prop also picked up the Graham Steadman Player of the Year after making 30 appearances in the Knights’ first season in Super League.

Martin said: “I’m super excited to have extended my future with the club and can’t wait to rip into the 2027 season.”

Head coach Mark Applegarth believes there’s still more to come from the prop, adding: “Jack’s really been consistent this year with his performance and that’s why he got the Player of the Year award.

“It’s a really high standard he drives for himself and his teammates and he’s ultra consistent.

“He does a lot of the unselfish work to a high standard – the repeat high intensity efforts that good prop forwards do.

“I’m delighted and I think he’s going to be massive for us.”

The 25 year-old is a former Queensland Under 19s representative who played in the reserve-grade Queensland and New South Wales Cups for Ipswich Jets, Cronulla Sharks and Wynnum Manly Seagulls before moving to England.
