Adam Milner takes up dual role with Sheffield Eagles

SHEFFIELD EAGLES coach Ryan Sheridan believes the arrival of Adam Milner as player/coach is a statement of intent from the club.

The 34-year-old loose-forward or hooker has spent the last two seasons with Oldham, whom he joined from Huddersfield Giants in 2025, but is best known for a 14-year spell with Castleford Tigers, for whom he made over 300 appearances and was a part of the side that topped the 2017 Super League table and reached the 2021 Challenge Cup final.

Milner’s move to the club reunites him with Sheridan, who was part of the coaching staff during his time at Castleford, as well as old teammates Greg Eden and Alex Foster.

“Adam is a great acquisition for the Eagles and a real statement of our intentions,” said Sheridan, who has also appointed Jamie Bell to his coaching staff as head of performance.

“As soon as I was aware that he was available, I needed to sign him.

“I know the qualities that Adam will bring to the team and our environment. His experience will be a real asset for us, he is a great ball-playing middle, a tough competitor and a leader who will drive standards.

“I know he can’t wait to get started and make a positive impact on the Eagles”.
