ADRIAN LAM has admitted that he wants the future of off-contract Leigh Leopards stars to be sorted sooner rather than later.
Big-hitters Owen Trout and Robbie Mulhern are both off-contract at the end of the 2026 Super League season and both men have proved their worth to the Leopards in recent campaigns.
However, Trout and Mulhern have also been linked with moves away – to other Super League clubs as well as NRL sides.
And Lam is keen to get the future of both men – as well as other off-contract stars – wrapped up.
“There are a few players in that position but I don’t want to spend too much time talking about it,” Lam said.
“We get in this situation every year and it can affect performances. I’ve seen it with my own son at different times and at different clubs.
“It’s an area we want to get sorted quickly either way.
Is Lam hopeful that deals will be struck?
“I think every coach is the same and in the same boat. I’d rather sign them all for five years if I had my way.
“But it never works out that way, you deal with everyone separately but I think the squad as a whole has been awesome.
“We will get through that process but we are in a good place.”
